Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Public Services and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP gained 0.78% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p), which rose 3.30% or 70.0 points to trade at 2190.0 at the close. Banco De Bogota SA (CN:BBO) added 3.25% or 2000.0 points to end at 63500.0 and Almacenes Exito SA (CN:IMI) was up 3.23% or 500.0 points to 16000.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp (CN:PRU), which lost 5.76% or 110.0 points to trade at 1800.0 in late trade. Cemex Latam Holdings SA (CN:CLH) declined 2.10% or 280.0 points to end at 13060.0 and Grupo Argos SA (CN:ARG) shed 1.95% or 400.0 points to 20100.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for May delivery was down 1.99% or 2.48 to $122.05 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in May fell 0.60% or 17.50 to hit $2914.50 , while the June Gold contract fell 1.31% or 16.50 to trade at $1244.40 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 0.50% to 3005.00, while BRL/COP fell 0.44% to 862.19.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 94.80.
