Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Public Services, Investment and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p), which rose 2.71% or 65.0 points to trade at 2465.0 at the close. Empresa De Energia De Bogota (CN:EEB) added 1.66% or 30.0 points to end at 1840.0 and Bolsa De Valores De Colombia (CN:BVC) was up 1.08% or 0.2 points to 18.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Canacol Energy Ltd (CN:CNE), which lost 2.67% or 280.0 points to trade at 10200.0 in late trade. Almacenes Exito SA (CN:IMI) declined 1.35% or 200.0 points to end at 14600.0 and Grupo Aval Acciones Y Valores Pf (CN:GAA_p) shed 0.85% or 10.0 points to 1170.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for September delivery was down 1.21% or 1.72 to $139.88 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in September rose 0.21% or 6.50 to hit $3152.50 , while the August Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.95 to trade at $1269.55 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 6.43% to 2784.50, while BRL/COP fell 5.54% to 824.11.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.82.
