Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Retailers, Life Insurance and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 1.29%, while the SZSE Component index declined 1.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanying Paper (SS:600567), which rose 10.11% or 0.480 points to trade at 5.230 at the close. Tianli Tech (SS:600339) added 10.07% or 0.740 points to end at 8.090 and Jinling Hotel (SS:601007) was up 10.03% or 1.790 points to 19.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sh Dingli (SS:600614), which lost 10.01% or 3.460 points to trade at 31.120 in late trade. Zhongfa Suntec (SS:600520) declined 10.00% or 3.61 points to end at 32.48 and Sh Dingli-B (SS:900907) shed 9.99% or 0.130 points to 1.171.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Guangdong Orient Zirconic Ind Sci & Tech Co Ltd (SZ:002167) which rose 10.04% to 11.62, Do-Fluoride Chemicals Co Ltd (SZ:002407) which was up 10.02% to settle at 22.72 and Shenzhen Selen Science & Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002341) which gained 10.02% to close at 18.22.
The worst performers were Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery Co Ltd (SZ:002461) which was down 9.92% to 23.78 in late trade, Muyuan Foodstuff Co Ltd (SZ:002714) which lost 9.92% to settle at 64.75 and East Money Information Co Ltd (SZ:300059) which was down 7.66% to 56.66 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 747 to 228 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 1.32% to 26.86.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.01% or 11.10 to $1083.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.08 to trade at $55.19 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.00% to 6.2096, while EUR/CNY fell 0.31% to 6.7983.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 97.58.
