Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Life Insurance, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.46%, while the SZSE Component index declined 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Cn Power Const (SS:601669), which rose 10.04% or 1.140 points to trade at 12.490 at the close. Yunnan Yunwei (SS:600725) added 10.03% or 0.670 points to end at 7.350 and Bj Aritime (SS:600560) was up 10.03% or 1.590 points to 17.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Joeone (SS:601566), which lost 7.41% or 1.620 points to trade at 20.240 in late trade. Everbright (SS:601788) declined 6.13% or 2.310 points to end at 35.350 and Electro-Optic (SS:600184) shed 5.09% or 1.470 points to 27.430.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Leshi Internet Info Tech (SZ:300104) which rose 10.00% to 112.00, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd (SZ:000625) which was up 9.99% to settle at 24.55 and Weifu High-Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000581) which gained 6.96% to close at 38.10.
The worst performers were GF Securities Co Ltd (SZ:000776) which was down 4.01% to 28.70 in late trade, Suning Commerce Group Co Ltd (SZ:002024) which lost 3.32% to settle at 13.69 and Shenwan Hongyuan Group Co Ltd (SZ:000166) which was down 3.31% to 18.39 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 600 to 362 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 1.24% to 31.84.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.30 to $1194.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $57.66 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.12 to trade at $64.97 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.01% to 6.1978, while EUR/CNY rose 0.58% to 6.7475.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 97.00.
