Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Life Insurance, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 2.18%, while the SZSE Component index lost 2.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Lionco Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd (SS:603669), which rose 10.05% or 0.920 points to trade at 10.070 at the close. Jiangsu SINOJIT Wind Energy Technology Co Ltd (SS:601218) added 10.04% or 0.230 points to end at 2.520 and ADD Industry Zhejiang Co Ltd (SS:603089) was up 10.03% or 1.59 points to 17.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shanghai Greencourt Investment Group Co Ltd A (SS:600695), which lost 10.05% or 0.41 points to trade at 3.67 in late trade. Beijing Qianjing Landscape Co Ltd (SS:603778) declined 10.04% or 0.490 points to end at 4.390 and Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd (SS:600188) shed 10.02% or 1.130 points to 10.150.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Beijing Thunisoft Co Ltd (SZ:300271) which rose 5.83% to 13.44, Shandong Qixing Iron Tower Co Ltd (SZ:002359) which was up 4.81% to settle at 9.58 and Hithink RoyalFlush Info Network (SZ:300033) which gained 4.35% to close at 37.88.
The worst performers were Nanjing Hanrui Cobalt Co Ltd (SZ:300618) which was down 10.00% to 72.86 in late trade, Wuliangye Yibin Co Ltd (SZ:000858) which lost 10.00% to settle at 48.87 and Jiangsu Yanghe Brewery Joint-Stock Co Ltd (SZ:002304) which was down 10.00% to 86.40 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1184 to 236 and 42 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 32.12.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.00 to $1233.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.55% or 0.37 to hit $67.22 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.46 to trade at $77.16 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.17% to 6.9554, while EUR/CNY rose 0.19% to 7.9322.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 96.17.
