Investing.com – China equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 2.26%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 2.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Meiyan Jixiang (SS:600868), which rose 10.10% or 0.510 points to trade at 5.560 at the close. Pangda Automob (SS:601258) added 10.07% or 0.450 points to end at 4.920 and Yueyang Paper (SS:600963) was up 10.07% or 0.740 points to 8.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inesa Electron B (SS:900901), which lost 8.38% or 0.065 points to trade at 0.711 in late trade. Qinling Cement (SS:600217) declined 4.98% or 0.69 points to end at 13.17 and Greattown-B (SS:900940) shed 3.10% or 0.029 points to 0.906.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Sichuan Shengda Forestry Industry Co Ltd (SZ:002259) which rose 10.06% to 9.19, Guangzhou KingTeller Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002177) which was up 10.04% to settle at 11.07 and Chengdu Santai Holding Group Co Ltd (SZ:002312) which gained 10.02% to close at 30.42.
The worst performers were Hangzhou Shunwang Tech (SZ:300113) which was down 9.99% to 46.74 in late trade, BYD Co Ltd (SZ:002594) which lost 0.61% to settle at 65.00 and Cangzhou Mingzhu Plastic Co Ltd (SZ:002108) which was down 0.61% to 16.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 940 to 33 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 0.21% to 29.17.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.33% or 3.60 to $1093.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.91% or 0.41 to hit $45.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.46 to trade at $49.98 a barrel.
USD/CNY was unchanged 0.00% to 6.2097, while EUR/CNY rose 0.20% to 6.7971.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.78.
