Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Utilities and Capital Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX lost 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Telenor ASA (OL:TEL), which rose 1.82% or 2.4 points to trade at 134.5 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) added 1.30% or 3.8 points to end at 296.6 and DnB ASA (OL:DNB) was up 1.00% or 1.3 points to 130.8 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which lost 5.51% or 1.8 points to trade at 30.3 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 4.39% or 1.33 points to end at 28.95 and Statoil ASA (OL:STL) shed 2.09% or 3.4 points to 159.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 113 to 68 and 22 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.53% or 0.80 to $53.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.46% or 0.81 to hit $56.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.33% or 3.85 to trade at $1165.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.08% to 9.0068, while USD/NOK fell 0.72% to 8.5997.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 102.62.
