Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRKa) released its latest 13F for the quarter that ended Dec. 31, 2022. The firm showed no new stakes in the quarter but added to several major positions, including Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). Meanwhile, the firm lowers stakes in a couple of banks, while maintaining its largest bank holding in Bank of America (NYSE:BAC).
Berkshire's filing showed it added 333,856 shares of Apple in the last quarter of 2022, bringing the stake to 895,136,175 shares. The value of stake is worth a staggering $137 billion.
The firm also added to Louisiana-Pacific (NYSE:LPX) shares, moving from 5,795,906 shares to 7,044,909 shares.
Another additional purchase was Paramount Global (NASDAQ:PARA), where the stake was raised from 91,216,510 shares to 93,637,189 shares.
In banks, Berkshire lowered its stake in Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK) from 62,210,878 shares to 25,069,867 shares and U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) from 77,788,214 shares to 6,670,835 shares. The firm maintained its Bank of America stake at 1,010,100,606 shares, its second-largest position overall. The Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) stake was maintained at 55,155,797 shares.
Berkshire also maintained stakes in all three major credit card processors: American Express Co (NYSE:AXP) at 151,610,700 shares, Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:MA) maintained at 3,986,648 shares, and Visa Inc . (NYSE:V) at 8,297,460 shares.
The firm's newer stake in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE:TSM) was lowered from 60,060,880 shares to 8,292,724 shares.
Berkshire also trimmed stakes in Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI), Ally Financial (NYSE:ALLY), Chevron (NYSE:CVX), Kroger (NYSE:KR), and McKesson (NYSE:MCK).
