Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3), which rose 3.98% or 0.39 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) added 2.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.370 and Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) was up 1.56% or 0.52 points to 33.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3), which lost 3.62% or 0.85 points to trade at 22.60 in late trade. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) declined 3.56% or 0.39 points to end at 10.58 and ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) shed 3.52% or 0.05 points to 1.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 120 and 3 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.07% to 31.32.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.67% or 8.00 to $1186.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.69% or 1.65 to hit $59.62 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.68% or 2.23 to trade at $134.38 .
USD/BRL was up 0.08% to 3.1345, while EUR/BRL rose 1.16% to 3.5332.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 95.35.
