Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5), which rose 4.42% or 0.85 points to trade at 20.07 at the close. CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) added 2.43% or 0.16 points to end at 6.75 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was up 2.39% or 0.59 points to 25.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3), which lost 6.47% or 1.26 points to trade at 18.20 in late trade. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) declined 5.63% or 0.54 points to end at 9.06 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) shed 5.30% or 0.07 points to 1.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 600 to 337 and 41 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.09% to 26.51.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.90 to $2,682.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.45% or 1.75 to hit $69.81 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.30% or 0.80 to trade at $268.60 .
USD/BRL was up 0.43% to 5.48, while EUR/BRL fell 0.17% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 100.68.
