Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which rose 11.02% or 0.66 points to trade at 6.65 at the close. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 8.02% or 0.65 points to end at 8.75 and Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) was up 7.49% or 2.10 points to 30.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which lost 0.98% or 0.16 points to trade at 16.18 in late trade. Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) declined 0.30% or 0.07 points to end at 23.25 and CPFL Energia SA (SA:CPFE3) gained 0.15% or 0.04 points to 27.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 271 to 133 and 31 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.18% to 31.16.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.48 to $1282.28 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.69% or 0.86 to trade at $125.58 .
USD/BRL was down 0.50% to 3.2549, while EUR/BRL fell 0.41% to 3.7752.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 94.75.
