Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which rose 9.82% or 0.28 points to trade at 3.13 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) added 9.36% or 0.16 points to end at 1.87 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) was up 8.60% or 3.83 points to 48.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco do Brasil SA (BVMF:BBAS3), which lost 1.31% or 0.35 points to trade at 26.30 in late trade. WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) declined 1.27% or 0.62 points to end at 48.35 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) shed 0.78% or 0.25 points to 31.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 463 to 462 and 68 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.29% to 31.70.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 8.85 to $2,422.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.90% or 2.12 to hit $75.32 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.91% or 9.23 to trade at $245.18 .
USD/BRL was down 0.54% to 5.63, while EUR/BRL fell 0.99% to 6.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 102.98.
