Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Banco Bradesco SA (BVMF:BBDC3), which rose 3.83% or 0.47 points to trade at 12.74 at the close. Banco Bradesco SA Pref (BVMF:BBDC4) added 3.75% or 0.51 points to end at 14.12 and Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3) was up 3.53% or 0.52 points to 15.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which lost 9.59% or 0.86 points to trade at 8.11 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3) declined 5.86% or 0.18 points to end at 2.89 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) shed 4.66% or 0.50 points to 10.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 481 to 465 and 59 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 5.22% to 33.47 a new 6-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 14.80 to $2,429.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 4.55% or 10.28 to trade at $235.98 .
USD/BRL was down 1.14% to 5.66, while EUR/BRL fell 1.67% to 6.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 102.74.
