Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Industrials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3), which rose 4.47% or 0.72 points to trade at 16.82 at the close. Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) added 3.61% or 0.48 points to end at 13.78 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (BVMF:RAIL3) was up 3.53% or 0.79 points to 23.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which lost 1.37% or 0.40 points to trade at 28.81 in late trade. CTEEP Cia de Transmissao de Energia (BVMF:TRPL4) declined 1.24% or 0.34 points to end at 27.18 and Alpargatas SA (BVMF:ALPA4) shed 1.17% or 0.11 points to 9.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 639 to 305 and 57 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.87% to 24.03 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.68% or 40.00 to $2,419.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.04% or 0.85 to hit $82.95 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.80% or 1.95 to trade at $245.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.56% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL rose 0.84% to 5.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 104.16.
