Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3), which rose 9.05% or 1.75 points to trade at 21.08 at the close. Caixa Seguridade Participacoes SA (BVMF:CXSE3) added 4.55% or 0.65 points to end at 14.95 and Ambev SA (BVMF:ABEV3) was up 4.53% or 0.60 points to 13.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3), which lost 4.09% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.22 in late trade. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 2.66% or 1.53 points to end at 56.08 and Ez Tec SA (BVMF:EZTC3) shed 2.53% or 0.31 points to 11.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 565 to 412 and 56 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.29% to 32.03.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 7.14 to $2,665.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.69% or 1.83 to hit $69.93 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.03% or 0.08 to trade at $295.97 .
USD/BRL was down 0.22% to 6.04, while EUR/BRL fell 0.14% to 6.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 106.32.
