Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3), which rose 3.74% or 0.32 points to trade at 8.87 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) added 3.09% or 0.41 points to end at 13.67 and Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) was up 2.79% or 0.91 points to 33.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which lost 3.15% or 0.69 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) declined 2.63% or 0.13 points to end at 4.82 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 2.19% or 0.38 points to 17.01.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 197 and 24 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.49% to 30.60.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.28% or 3.55 to $1254.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.69% or 0.35 to hit $50.25 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.83% or 1.15 to trade at $137.62 .
USD/BRL was down 0.28% to 3.1134, while EUR/BRL fell 0.11% to 3.3224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.34.
