Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.32% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which rose 13.73% or 0.28 points to trade at 2.32 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) added 7.48% or 0.36 points to end at 5.17 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) was up 4.75% or 0.25 points to 5.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which lost 3.33% or 0.34 points to trade at 9.88 in late trade. Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) declined 2.82% or 0.04 points to end at 1.38 and Dexco SA (BVMF:DXCO3) shed 2.17% or 0.18 points to 8.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 542 to 393 and 61 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.74% to 24.33.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 1.15 to $2,549.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.23 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.01% or 0.02 to trade at $248.48 .
USD/BRL was up 0.18% to 5.49, while EUR/BRL rose 0.17% to 6.11.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.06.
