Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3), which rose 5.70% or 1.10 points to trade at 20.41 at the close. Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) added 3.14% or 0.21 points to end at 6.90 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was up 2.65% or 0.61 points to 23.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3), which lost 7.26% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.66 in late trade. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) declined 7.18% or 0.14 points to end at 1.81 and Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3) shed 4.32% or 1.47 points to 32.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 539 to 391 and 40 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 6.85% to 28.08.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.45 to $2,338.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $83.28 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.81% or 1.82 to trade at $226.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.15% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL rose 0.28% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 105.37.
