Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 2.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which fell 0.10% or 0.10 points to trade at 105.00 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) fell 0.14% or 0.055 points to end at 38.230 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was down 0.39% or 0.310 points to 78.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 5.31% or 0.203 points to trade at 3.619 in late trade. FCC (MC:FCC) declined 4.71% or 0.281 points to end at 5.690 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) shed 4.60% or 0.098 points to 2.034.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 20 and 10 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.19% or 2.00 to $1073.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.32% or 0.12 to hit $37.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.26 to trade at $40.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.0879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 98.50.
