Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 24.00% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.124 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 2.83% or 0.410 points to end at 14.920 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 2.42% or 0.030 points to 1.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 7.28% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1400 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 4.31% or 0.009 points to end at 0.200 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 4.17% or 0.01 points to 0.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 43 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1133.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.93% or 0.49 to hit $52.98 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.57 to trade at $55.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0461, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.8502.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 102.87.
