Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which rose 6.68% or 0.43 points to trade at 6.87 at the close. Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) added 6.53% or 0.385 points to end at 6.285 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 4.74% or 0.146 points to 3.224 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 20.57% or 1.0880 points to trade at 4.2020 in late trade. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) declined 5.01% or 0.4800 points to end at 9.1000 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 4.71% or 0.2240 points to 4.5300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 369 to 61 and 8 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 7.16% or 2.12 to $31.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 7.93% or 2.32 to hit $31.57 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1098.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0810, while EUR/GBP fell 1.04% to 0.7568.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 99.50.
