Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which rose 5.53% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.04 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 3.33% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.4035 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was up 2.56% or 0.108 points to 4.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which lost 2.44% or 0.165 points to trade at 6.595 in late trade. Terna (MI:TRN) declined 1.69% or 0.082 points to end at 4.784 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) shed 1.48% or 0.0080 points to 0.5310.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 189 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.48% or 0.74 to $49.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.48% or 0.75 to hit $49.90 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.67% or 21.60 to trade at $1270.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.1250, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7674.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 94.09.
