Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.07% or 0.02 points to trade at 28.02 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 26.81 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.01% or 0.005 points to 46.005 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.48% or 1.540 points to trade at 60.660 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 2.31% or 0.95 points to end at 40.34 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 2.12% or 0.290 points to 13.370.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 36 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.52% or 6.15 to $1197.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.90% or 0.48 to hit $52.69 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.30 to trade at $55.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0686, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.47.
