Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.25% or 0.60 points to trade at 27.23 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.63% or 0.650 points to end at 40.500 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 0.84% or 0.95 points to 114.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 2.36% or 1.71 points to trade at 70.60 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.34% or 1.165 points to end at 48.665 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 2.01% or 0.230 points to 11.240.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 60 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.95% or 11.65 to $1241.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.46% or 0.64 to hit $43.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.35 to trade at $44.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7777.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.73.
