Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Software & Computers and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which rose 1.92% or 1.59 points to trade at 84.54 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) added 0.51% or 0.55 points to end at 107.70 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) was up 0.13% or 0.06 points to 41.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB), which lost 2.52% or 0.885 points to trade at 34.260 in late trade. KBC (BRU:KBC) declined 1.51% or 0.890 points to end at 58.190 and Umicore NV (BRU:UMI) shed 1.49% or 0.65 points to 42.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 126 to 43 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.50 to $1171.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.81% or 1.07 to hit $58.06 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.73 to trade at $62.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.09% to 1.1236, while EUR/GBP rose 0.98% to 0.7348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.75% at 95.66.
