Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Real Estate and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB), which rose 2.04% or 2.50 points to trade at 125.35 at the close. UCB (BRU:UCB) added 1.24% or 0.82 points to end at 66.92 and NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) was up 1.13% or 0.29 points to 26.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRU:COFB), which lost 1.65% or 1.58 points to trade at 94.41 in late trade. DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB) declined 1.64% or 0.580 points to end at 34.750 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb) shed 1.12% or 0.665 points to 58.745.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 85 and 4 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.60 to $1192.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.41% or 0.85 to hit $61.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.58 to trade at $65.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.98% to 1.1144, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.7266.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.55% at 96.02.
