Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 2.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 3.92% or 3.75 points to trade at 99.30 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 2.20% or 1.24 points to end at 57.58 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.85% or 1.10 points to 60.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which lost 6.16% or 4.28 points to trade at 65.16 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 5.85% or 1.46 points to end at 23.50 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 4.89% or 23.40 points to 455.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 26 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 5.70 to $2,475.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.07% or 2.34 to hit $73.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.70% or 2.15 to trade at $77.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
