Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which rose 2.97% or 1.18 points to trade at 40.86 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 1.61% or 0.37 points to end at 23.42 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.30% or 1.160 points to 90.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 3.45% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.96 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 2.35% or 1.54 points to end at 64.00 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 1.87% or 1.40 points to 73.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 55 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.34% or 4.45 to $1302.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.73% or 2.00 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.12% or 1.92 to trade at $59.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1439, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8685.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 95.352.
