Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which rose 0.83% or 0.46 points to trade at 55.66 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 0.47% or 2.20 points to end at 467.10 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was up 0.20% or 0.20 points to 98.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 5.92% or 1.52 points to trade at 24.14 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 5.16% or 0.58 points to end at 10.66 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) shed 3.58% or 2.90 points to 78.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 23 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.39% or 9.85 to $2,517.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.77% or 2.77 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.36% or 3.38 to trade at $74.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.75.
