Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 0.73% or 1.20 points to trade at 165.35 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 0.52% or 2.60 points to end at 499.30 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was up 0.33% or 0.20 points to 60.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 3.17% or 0.37 points to trade at 11.31 in late trade. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) declined 2.13% or 1.50 points to end at 68.84 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 1.72% or 0.42 points to 23.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 30 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.70 to $2,670.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.38% or 3.07 to hit $73.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.15% or 3.07 to trade at $76.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.78.
