Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 4.68% or 0.61 points to trade at 13.65 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.23% or 1.00 points to end at 82.00 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.33% or 0.200 points to 61.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 3.32% or 0.66 points to trade at 19.24 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 2.01% or 2.30 points to end at 112.40 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 1.87% or 0.90 points to 47.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.80% or 9.60 to $1197.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $78.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1567, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.9016.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 95.49.
