Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 4.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.02 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 2.51% or 1.38 points to end at 56.34 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 2.27% or 1.35 points to 60.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 10.19% or 8.33 points to trade at 73.40 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 3.29% or 2.65 points to end at 77.90 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 3.23% or 1.05 points to 31.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 29 and 23 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 16.70 to $2,489.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.95% or 0.74 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.57 to trade at $80.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 104.13.
