Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 2.14% or 0.28 points to trade at 13.39 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 0.51% or 0.40 points to end at 78.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.41% or 0.17 points to 41.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which lost 2.27% or 1.15 points to trade at 49.47 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.19% or 0.16 points to end at 13.33 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.16% or 1.01 points to 85.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 51 and 24 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1217.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.99% or 2.76 to hit $66.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.55% or 2.65 to trade at $72.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1599, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.03.
