Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.73% or 0.65 points to trade at 38.32 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.63% or 0.28 points to end at 43.63 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.55% or 0.225 points to 40.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 1.43% or 1.40 points to trade at 96.25 in late trade. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 0.92% or 0.82 points to end at 88.61 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) shed 0.68% or 0.30 points to 44.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 30 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 5.09 to $1277.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.59% or 0.33 to hit $55.37 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.27 to trade at $61.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1795, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8957.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.77.
