Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.58% or 0.99 points to trade at 63.73 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.09% or 0.04 points to end at 44.53 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 0.07% or 0.02 points to 28.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 2.11% or 0.91 points to trade at 42.04 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.57% or 0.45 points to end at 27.89 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.35% or 1.60 points to 116.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 39 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.25 to $1283.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.93% or 1.11 to hit $58.51 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 1.24 to trade at $63.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1905, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8821.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.76.
