Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 0.97% or 0.43 points to trade at 45.26 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 0.88% or 0.35 points to end at 40.66 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 0.35% or 0.22 points to 63.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 1.23% or 0.70 points to trade at 56.35 in late trade. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 1.01% or 0.395 points to end at 38.895 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.85% or 0.590 points to 68.540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 9.28 to $1339.68 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $47.45 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.41 to trade at $52.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1920, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.9214.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 92.45.
