Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 2.29% or 1.06 points to trade at 47.40 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.52% or 0.07 points to end at 13.45 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 0.30% or 0.06 points to 19.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 3.57% or 2.980 points to trade at 80.500 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 2.60% or 2.10 points to end at 78.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 1.09% or 0.41 points to 37.16.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 3.70 to $1205.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.02% or 1.39 to hit $67.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 1.24 to trade at $76.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.03.
