Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 5.86% or 30.00 points to trade at 541.60 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 4.47% or 8.50 points to end at 198.50 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 0.08% or 0.03 points to 37.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which lost 5.82% or 3.40 points to trade at 54.98 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 5.70% or 1.50 points to end at 24.82 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) shed 2.13% or 1.30 points to 59.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 27 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.73% or 48.45 to $2,752.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.66% or 0.45 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.41 to trade at $72.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
