Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 0.75% or 0.34 points to trade at 45.75 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 0.40% or 0.16 points to end at 40.49 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.30% or 0.250 points to 83.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 1.01% or 0.425 points to trade at 41.545 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.00% or 0.14 points to end at 14.36 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 0.75% or 0.28 points to 37.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 52 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 6.33 to $1278.13 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.15 to hit $54.05 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.13 to trade at $60.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1634, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.47.
