Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 1.31% or 0.44 points to trade at 33.95 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.95% or 0.22 points to end at 23.40 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.70% or 0.18 points to 25.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sofina (EBR:SOF), which lost 2.18% or 4.80 points to trade at 215.20 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 2.06% or 0.29 points to end at 13.78 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) shed 2.01% or 1.20 points to 58.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.62% or 38.80 to $2,358.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.02% or 0.85 to hit $82.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.80 to trade at $85.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.63.
