Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.82% or 0.32 points to trade at 17.95 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.79% or 1.080 points to end at 61.420 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.46% or 2.60 points to 181.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 10.82% or 1.42 points to trade at 11.70 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 1.85% or 1.88 points to end at 99.52 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.81% or 1.21 points to 65.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 38 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1224.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.94% or 0.58 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.95 to trade at $71.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8705.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 96.14.
