Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 2.21% or 0.36 points to trade at 16.64 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 1.69% or 0.79 points to end at 47.55 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.57% or 1.200 points to 77.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 1.76% or 0.88 points to trade at 49.00 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.42% or 0.60 points to end at 143.20 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.31% or 0.220 points to 69.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 36 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.80 to $1313.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.09% or 0.76 to hit $70.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 1.16 to trade at $76.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1930, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 92.56.
