Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which rose 2.24% or 1.44 points to trade at 65.60 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 1.79% or 0.55 points to end at 31.34 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 1.54% or 0.11 points to 7.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which lost 1.47% or 5.30 points to trade at 355.60 in late trade. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 1.38% or 1.25 points to end at 89.05 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) shed 1.17% or 0.16 points to 13.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 46 to 42 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.82% or 19.30 to $2,329.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.11% or 0.87 to hit $78.92 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.84 to trade at $83.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.09.
