Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.66% or 0.40 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.41% or 1.10 points to end at 79.10 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 1.25% or 0.58 points to 46.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 1.56% or 0.21 points to trade at 13.29 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 0.85% or 0.34 points to end at 39.76 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.57% or 0.360 points to 62.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 43 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.81% or 9.70 to $1193.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.37% or 0.25 to hit $67.61 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.15 to trade at $74.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1555, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.9015.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 95.45.
