Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 0.73% or 0.85 points to trade at 116.55 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 0.52% or 0.25 points to end at 48.60 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 0.46% or 0.80 points to 173.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 0.95% or 0.114 points to trade at 11.916 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.83% or 0.17 points to end at 20.43 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.75% or 0.30 points to 39.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1214.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.45% or 0.31 to hit $68.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $76.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1718, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.9092.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.46.
