Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.71% or 1.180 points to trade at 44.745 at the close. Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 2.03% or 1.88 points to end at 94.29 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.98% or 0.945 points to 48.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which lost 1.52% or 1.65 points to trade at 106.85 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 1.29% or 1.14 points to end at 87.20 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 0.43% or 0.10 points to 24.43.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 59 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1271.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.24% or 0.58 to hit $46.12 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.35 to trade at $47.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.75% to 1.1291, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7861.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 94.74.
