Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.77% or 0.57 points to trade at 33.10 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.31% or 0.28 points to end at 21.64 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.09% or 1.10 points to 102.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.56% or 1.090 points to trade at 68.670 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.26% or 0.52 points to end at 40.39 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) shed 0.35% or 0.22 points to 62.82.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 46 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.93% or 11.67 to $1244.73 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.77% or 0.33 to hit $43.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.24 to trade at $45.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8793.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 97.02.
