Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 1.23% or 0.630 points to trade at 51.820 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.13% or 0.27 points to end at 24.09 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.04% or 0.113 points to 10.967 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.83% or 0.49 points to trade at 26.59 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 0.82% or 0.34 points to end at 40.68 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.72% or 0.10 points to 13.79.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 72 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.85 to $1322.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.59% or 0.28 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.21 to trade at $50.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1237, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8648.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.33.
