Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 2.02% or 0.205 points to trade at 10.330 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 1.25% or 1.45 points to end at 117.55 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.21% or 0.550 points to 45.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (BR:ELI), which lost 1.54% or 0.695 points to trade at 44.565 in late trade. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 1.26% or 0.93 points to end at 73.00 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) shed 0.77% or 0.70 points to 90.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 68 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.29% or 3.65 to $1273.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.85% or 0.41 to hit $48.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.30 to trade at $49.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.34% to 0.7718.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.73.
