Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.39% or 0.660 points to trade at 48.185 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.13% or 0.345 points to end at 30.780 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.97% or 1.00 points to 104.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 0.80% or 0.12 points to trade at 14.90 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.59% or 0.17 points to end at 28.56 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.20% or 0.090 points to 44.855.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.06% or 0.75 to $1328.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 0.70 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.47% or 0.70 to trade at $46.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1077, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8347.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.53.
